Lyrics: “A Song From the Past”

I saw a record store
Compelled, I went through the door
Although I don’t own
A turntable anymore
I slipped back almost a good forty years
I thumbed through cover art
The Beatles seemed like a good start
Sergeant Pepper healed my heart
But I can still remember those high school tears

Album Covers w Skyy cut(Chorus)
What do you say
About a song from the past
That marked magic moments
When it first broadcast
Before digital days
Records would melt in the sun
Many years have gone by
Since I last held one

Dust covers hold the words
For The Stones, Eagles, and Yardbirds
They’re still protecting their records
From fingerprints, scratches, and spilled beers

(Chorus)
What do you say
About a song from the past
That marked magic moments
When it first broadcast
Before digital days
Records would melt in the sun
Many years have gone by
Since I last held one
